From the time an idea takes shape in the designer's mind to it finding a tangible form in the hands of our master craftsmen on the loom to the perfectly finished rug adorning your home — it is a synchronised collaboration of passion and dedication. A shared journey that we all enjoy thoroughly.
Our family's relationship with rugs began in 1951, when our great-grandfather brought the art of carpet weaving into the family in Bhadohi — the rug capital of India. In 1977, we established our own company, and for nearly five decades since, we have enthralled the world with our exquisite, handmade rugs.

Aishwarya Gupta
Aishwarya comes from a family of generations of weavers and rug manufacturers. Having grown up around the fascinating world of handmade textiles, she learnt to naturally appreciate the art and creativity that go into each rug.
As one of the very few female entrepreneurs in this trade, she brings new energy and sensitivity to the work environment. She is determined to empower women and has been a strong advocate against child labour.
Every rug from House of Rugs is made by skilled adult artisans who are fairly compensated for their craft.
