A coming together of diverse creative forces and energies give rise to surprising outcomes. With this in mind, at House of Rugs we want to nurture a culture of collaborations with like-minded individuals and organisations.
In the aftermath of the pandemic, when the need for caring for the planet by choosing planet-friendly products arose, our Founder Aishwarya Gupta felt the urge to come up with a sustainable collection of carpets. She was looking to tie up with someone who was as passionate about sustainability as herself, and the name that came to mind was Pernia Qureshi of Gur Organics. Pernia’s commitment to create stylish clothing using forest-friendly fabrics and biodegradable trimmings resonated with Aishwarya. And that’s how the two came together to create our Kairos collection.
Over the past few months, during the lockdown, they worked from remote to create a sublime collection whose design, materials and the process of making revolve around eco-friendly and ethical luxury.
The nature-inspired designs by Pernia celebrate the Japandi style, evoking a feeling of art, nature and simplicity. Hints of Art Deco lend a sophisticated edge of boldness to carpets in pastel shades full of textures and hints of vibrant colours. The result is a collection of calming designs that bring the delicacy and luxurious vibe of Nature into your homes.
Our master craftspersons elucidate the sublimity of the designs using the finest natural yarns and recycled materials to perfection.
